Service Description
Urban Ratting Classes Urban Ratting is a fast-growing canine sport that channels your dog’s natural prey drive into a fun, safe, and structured activity. In this sport, dogs use their noses, focus, and agility to locate securely protected rats hidden in aerated tubes within a simulated urban environment of trash, tunnels, and obstacles. Our Urban Ratting classes are designed to build confidence, impulse control, and teamwork while giving dogs a healthy outlet for their natural instincts. In class your dog will learn to: Search independently and problem-solve Indicate when they’ve located a rat Work calmly and confidently around distractions Navigate tight spaces, surfaces, and obstacles Benefits of Urban Ratting: Excellent mental and physical enrichment Builds confidence in shy or nervous dogs Great energy outlet for high-drive and working breeds Strengthens handler-dog communication Safe, humane, and controlled environment All rats used are ethically housed, well cared for, and protected at all times inside ventilated, bite-proof tubes. Dogs never have physical contact with the rats — this sport is about scent work, not catching. Urban Ratting is suitable for dogs of all breeds and experience levels. Whether you have a terrier bred for vermin work or a companion dog looking for a new challenge, this sport offers a rewarding way to engage their instincts in a positive way.
